After a long wait, it's finally ready - our original T1 SO42 bus from 1966. A real hippie bus this time with the typical flower power look.
The bus itself was in a "restored" state when we bought it, but it quickly became clear that the restoration by the previous owner(s) left much to be desired. Kilos of filler, rust holes that had been hidden and numerous other hidden defects meant that we had to rebuild the bus from the ground up. Part of the bodywork, the floor and the nose were renewed and the bus was given a new coat of paint, wiring harness, new car radio, charging circuit, new front seats and of course all mechanics were thoroughly checked or replaced.
Since it has always been my dream to have a real hippie bus, this was the ideal opportunity to give the bus a flower power wrap, which we immediately set to work on. The text "make love not war" is more relevant than ever given the current times, even though it dates from the 1960s.
The bus has been restored to its former glory and is eager to go on an adventure!
